FRUITDALE, AL — Vinegar Bend's Little League team has advanced to the district tournament after winning the area championship.

The team, coached by local volunteers, went undefeated in area play with a record of 5-0.

Parents and community members packed the stands for every game, creating an electric atmosphere.

Little League has been a staple of youth sports in Washington County for decades.

The district tournament will be held in a neighboring county later this month.
