COFFEEVILLE, AL A truck driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a logging truck crash on County Road 33 near Coffeeville on Monday.

The arrest came after Choctaw County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash shortly after 2:00 p.m. on County Road 33 near the St. Stephens Historic Site. The logging truck crossed into oncoming traffic.

The driver, a 51-year-old Arkansas man, was found to be impaired at the scene, according to Choctaw County Sheriff's Office. Field sobriety tests were administered and the driver was taken into custody.

Two additional vehicles sustained minor damage while avoiding the crash scene. The logging truck was carrying herbicide.

Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. County Road 33 was affected for nearly 5 hours.

The driver was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of DUI and property damage. Bond information was not immediately available.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration prohibits commercial vehicle operators from driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.04% or higher, half the legal limit for passenger vehicle drivers.
