MILLRY, AL — Hundreds of residents were left without power after strong thunderstorms moved through Washington County, downing trees and power lines.
Alabama Power reported outages affecting approximately 400 customers in the Chatom, Millry, and McIntosh areas as of Thursday morning.
Road and Bridge Department crews have been clearing fallen trees from roadways since before dawn.
No injuries have been reported. The Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the situation.
Alabama Power repair crews are on scene working to restore service by late afternoon.
Residents should stay away from downed power lines and report hazards to the Sheriff's Office at (251) 847-2202.
