FRUITDALE, AL — Fruitdale High School's cross country team competed at the Alabama state championship meet.

Both boys' and girls' teams qualified after strong sectional performances.

Top runner finished in the top 30 overall among over 150 competitors.

The program has expanded with more students discovering the sport.

The team trains on roads and trails throughout Washington County.

Cross Country Coach praised the athletes' commitment and improvement.
