SALITPA, AL — A construction vehicle rear-ended a Ford F-150 at the intersection of County Road 70 and County Road 62 near Salitpa on Friday.

The crash occurred approximately 5:45 p.m. when the construction vehicle failed to stop at the intersection. Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) reports the Ford F-150 was stopped at a stop sign when it was struck from behind.

The impact pushed the Ford F-150 into the intersection. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The truck driver, a 47-year-old Texas woman, told investigators driver fatigue may have been a factor. early morning frost were noted at the time.

Vinegar Bend Volunteer Fire Department and EMS personnel from Mobile Infirmary responded to the scene. County Road 70 was partially blocked for more than 10 hours.

Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is investigating the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
