SUNFLOWER, AL — A construction vehicle overturned on County Road 50 near Sunflower shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, causing significant traffic delays.

Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) responded to the single-vehicle rollover on County Road 50 at the bridge over Bilbo Creek. The construction vehicle, carrying pine logs, left the roadway and overturned in a ditch.

Investigators say wet road conditions appears to be a factor in the crash. light drizzle were reported in the area at the time.

The driver, a 52-year-old Indiana woman, was transported to Mobile Infirmary in stable condition.

Crews from Millry Volunteer Fire Department and a private towing company worked for several hours to upright the vehicle and clear the scene. gravel from the truck was scattered across the roadway.

County Road 50 was reduced to one lane during the cleanup, causing significant delays for commuters.
