LEROY, AL — The Chatom Town Council has approved new parking regulations for the downtown area to improve traffic flow and business access.
The regulations include time-limited parking on Main Street and designated loading zones for commercial deliveries.
Business owners had requested the changes, citing issues with long-term parking reducing customer access to storefronts.
The new rules will be enforced beginning next month, with a grace period for education and signage installation.
Council members also discussed plans for additional parking behind the Main Street commercial corridor.
Residents and business owners with questions can contact Chatom Town Hall for more information.
