TIBBIE, AL — A community cookout in Calvert raised funds for local youth programs serving Washington County children.

The event featured BBQ plates, baked goods, and beverages, with all proceeds benefiting after-school and summer programs.

Organizers estimated that over 27 community members attended the fundraiser.

Local businesses donated supplies and prizes for a raffle held during the event.

Youth program coordinators said the funds will help cover costs for field trips, supplies, and guest speakers.

The next fundraiser is planned for the fall and organizers are seeking additional community sponsors.
