MILLRY, AL — ALDOT has announced plans to install a new traffic signal at a busy intersection on Highway 43 in Washington County.
The intersection has been the site of several accidents in recent years, prompting residents and local officials to petition for improved traffic control.
The traffic signal project includes new turning lanes, pedestrian crosswalks, and LED lighting for improved nighttime visibility.
Construction is expected to begin within 23 months and be completed in approximately 90 days.
The project is funded through ALDOT's highway safety improvement program.
Temporary traffic disruptions are expected during construction, and drivers are advised to use caution in the work zone.
