FRUITDALE, AL — ALDOT has announced a resurfacing project for County Road 71, addressing long-standing road condition concerns.

The project will resurface approximately 37 miles of roadway with improved drainage and shoulder work.

The project is part of a broader investment in rural road infrastructure across southwest Alabama.

Construction is expected to begin within months and be completed in 7 weeks.

Local residents have lobbied for improvements citing potholes and deteriorating pavement.

The Road and Bridge Department will coordinate to minimize disruptions during construction.
